Of course, that's the most basic version of what SingStar is. Suck, and the game will call it "awful." In the end, your points are tallied and you're giving a rating that ranges from Tone Deaf to SingStar. Nail it, and the game will describe your last line as "cool" while giving you points. Your job is to match your color with these bars - you want to paint these pitch and timing bars. As that's going on, you'll notice blank bars on the screen.
If you're singing high, the color appears high on the screen. As those words light up, you sing'em and your voice makes a color on the screen. Players pick what they want to sing on easy, medium, or hard difficulties, and then the words of whatever song they picked begin appearing at the bottom of the screen while the music video for the track plays behind it. Now, singing in SingStar is about as easy or hard as it sounds. You can sing by yourself duet with a friend battle with a friend or host an up to eight-player, two-team sing off known as Pass the Mic where you guys toss the mics between teammates in an array of goofy challenges. Like every SingStar before it, Country will present you with several modes to take 30 songs and six medleys into (don't worry, the track list is below and none of your favorites have to be unlocked or anything). Still, I get paid to tell you if SingStar Country is worth your time and money, so here goes: yes, SingStar Country is worth your time and money.

That means you could probably read any of my PS2 reviews, plug in the latest track list, and know how you're going to feel about the new version of the game. On the PlayStation 2, Sony has a pretty rigid format for how these titles go and not much changes from release to release.
The trouble is that I find myself almost quoting myself whenever I sit down to write a SingStar review. 2 as well as the PlayStation 2's SingStar Country and Singstar Legends, I've reviewed nine in little more than a year and a half.
